A: No, your child will automati
cally be enrolled in the Head Start
Part Day 4 year old program. Prior to
the start of school on August 31st,
you will be asked to come in and
update your child's packet, emer
gency contacts & authorized pick
ups and complete a USDA form.
You will be contacted by mail, mid
August about your chi Id 's classroom
assignment.
Q: Will my 4 year old get in?
A: Yes, as long as we have a
completed packet by the time class
room assignments are done, your four
year old will be in the Head Start Part
Day Program.
Q: When will I know if my child

membership. Class II director shall
have an initial term in office expiring

tacted about what class your child
will be in, when parent orientation
will be and what you need to com
plete before your child can attend.
Q: What do I need to do to have a
completed registration packet for my
child?
A: y ou must complete and sign a
registration packet that includes: in
formation and authorization form,
consent and release of medical infor
mation form and the parent question
naire. A current physical form and
up-to-date immunization certificate
is required. And proof of income
must be provided. There is also a
nutrition survey, literacy survey and
USDA form that you will be asked to
complete.

the membership that residency be
eliminated from our enrollment
policy. According to our files, the
elimination of the residency policy
could possibly make about400 people
eligible for automatic cnrollmcnt,and
more, because many of the applicants
in our files have brothers and sisters.

Summer Recreation
program ends
Summer Recreation began on June 24 and
ended on August 13,1993.
Participants in the Summer Recreation pro
gram have taken field trips to places such as: The
Cove, Trout Lake, I ligh Desert Museum, Wash
ington Park Zoo, and Lone Pine. Kids six and
older were allowed to go on these Friday field
trips.
Swim lessons at Kah-Nee-Ta were available
for children. Summer Youth Workers were certi
fied in Emergency Water Safety for this activity.
There were six sessions of swimming lessons.
Lessons ranged from pre-school to intermediate.
This year approximately 300 kids and 12-15
Summer Youth Workers were involved in the
program.

four year old children. It is the goal
of Warm Springs Head Start to serve

This is to give them preschool expe
rience to better prepare them for a
positive transition into Kindergarten
at Warm Springs Elementary.

lected? A: New to Warm Springs last year
was a Head Start Home Base pro
