M' "-, ' , , N - .- : I I Twelve team participated in the Kah-Ncc-Ta Resort Co-ed Softball Tournament held in memory of Ed I Icnry, Sr. last weekend , Mav 22-23. The 1993 champions were Mission Market of Warm Springs who re ceived jackets and a trophy. Second place went to Macy's Market of warm Springs and they were awarded sweatshirts and a plaque. Third place was Four Winds of Warm Springs and they received T-shirts and a plaque. Fourth place was Smith & Greene of Warm Springs who were awarded T-shirts and a plaque. Mucklcshoot 2 of Washington was awarded fifth place rcccivcdT-shirts and a plaque. The Host Team, Sun Devils placed sixth, and received T shirts and a plaque. Mucklcshoot All Starrs won consolation and received the At Least We Tried Harder award. The other four teams who panicipa ted were; Animals, Flaming Horncis and WSFPI of Warm Springs and Yurok. The sportsmanship award went to the Marauders of Wapato. Donnie Baglcy of Macy's was named Best Bat, while Macy's player Darry! Smith was presented Best C love.Thc Female Most Valuable Player was awarded to Dcanic Johnson of Macy 's and the Male Most Valuable Player award was given to Rick Minthom of Mission Market. All-stars were awarded to Dcana Crane and Andy Stacona of Yurok, Tiger Van Pelt and Paula Brisbois of WSFPI, Jim Arthur and Charmainc Watts of Flaming Hornets, Alex Tufti and Ambrosia Suppah of Animals, Travis and Susie of Marauders, Jack and Susie of Mucklcshoot All Starrs, Willie Trimble and Elsa of Sun Devils, Jeff and 13 year old pitcher Amy of Mucklcshoot 2, Owen Danzuka and Una Shike of Smith & Greene, Larson Kalama and Dcanic Smith of Four Winds, Jodc Goudy and Libby Chase of Macy's, also Maria Hcrkshan and Shane Rivera of Mission Market Seventeen rookies were also ac knowledged because it was their first time playing in a softball tournament. i 1 , Cyjim of Macy's powers one out into left field to 4-Winds defense. Water stations will be located throughout the course. The course will begin and end at the Warm Springs Community Center parking lot in Warm Springs, Oregon. This rodeo is also WSIRA sanctioned. Thirteen events are on tap for ac tion filled weekend, they are: Saddle Bronc, Bareback, Bull Riding, Steer Wrestling, Cow Milking, Sr. Barrel Racing, Calf Roping, Team Roping (2 loops enter twice). Breakaway Roping, Wild Horse Race (Indian teams only), Jr. Barrel Racing (14 years and under), Calf Scramble (Sunday, 10 years and under), and Century Roping (combined age of 100). With the exception of the Wild Horse Race, limit is 16, there are no limits. Each event will have one go. Entry fee for each event is S50.00 except for the Wild Horse Race, Jr. Barrels, Calf Scramble, and Century Roping.
