The two teams who made it there were the defending champions, The Oregon Athletic team and also last years runners up the Warm Springs Magpies. The OA team jumped out fast to build an eight point first quarter lead. The saying goes, "When your hot, your hot" That's the way the OA team came out all fired up to defend their title. They hit four 3-pointcrs and it appeared everything they threw up went in like there was a magnet in the basket. While the Magpies were not so fortunate as their shots didn't fall through enough to keep pace with OA. Brookcr Jones had the hot hand in the first quarter getting two 3-pointcrs two baskets and one free throw for 1 1 points in the opening quarter of the game. James Scott, of the Magpies matched Jones as he canned 1 1 points also in the first quarter. But with help from Merle Smith and Seymour Ruben to keep ahead of the Host Magpies. In the second quarter Seymour Ruben cut lose burning the nets for four 3 pointcrs and a couple of free throws for a total of 14 points, James Scott, was right on his tail 13 points with three 3-pointcrs and he was 4 for 4 at the foul line for 13 points in the quarter. It was the second quarter where the OA club got away from the Magpies and after that they coasted on to victory. In the meantime the Magpies had their work cut out for them if they were to get some kind of a drive going but as the half time buzzer sounded the score was 76-49 in favor of OA. In the third quarter the pace slowed down a bit as OA managed 29 points and the Magpies 22.
