The winner of that event was Norman Thomas of Owyhee, Nevada, who was riding a horse owned by Kathy Heath. Tho mas covered the 14 mile course in 46 minutes and 3 seconds. Allen Gilbert, Jr. wasaclose second his time48:02, with Jay Suppah third with 49:38. Joe Scott fourth his time of 70:18, and fifth place was Lucinda Heath her time of 98:26. The final mile in the endurance race is almost like a suicide race as the path is almost straight down, on the steep hillside just west of the campus area. No matter which way they go down it's steep. In the Jr. Division for kids 15 and under, Flint Scott won the race as he covered the five mile course in rapid time. Second place went to Evans Spino, Jr., third place was Smokey Wewa, fourth place went to Charlcne Spino and one was disqualified be cause of age. The annual event sponsored by the Tribes is always fun to watch especially if the race is close as they come down the hill at a rapid pace. The judges were Mr. Topash, Allen Els ton and Jim Noteboom . These fine men work there each year. 1992 Kah-Nee-Ta Fry Bread "A" Flight Net Gross 144 Levi Bob, Warm Springs 149 Richard Azar, Portland 149 Jay Kenyon, Monmouth "B" 154 Fred Hayes, Olympia, Wa. 161 Chuck Schmidt, Madras 164 Tony Washines, Yakima "C" 167 LV.
