The questions that will be asked are: how many days did you hunt?; did you kill or not?; what size?; date of kill and what unit Your cooperation will be helpful for yourself to be issued a tag for 1992 hunting season. Activities, however, begin Saturday February 1, with a memorial dinner and openingblessing of the Simnasho Longhouse. All those that were in mourning (for loss of a loved one) will be re-joining the dancing circle as the tradition goes. Sunday Febru ary 2, "Special Sunday Service" a prayer service for powwow partici pants will be held. On Friday, February 7, the pow wow begins at 6:30 p.m. with "new joiners." Duringthroughout the powwow will be special events, they are: 1) Honoring of War Bonnets "a parade" 2) Lamere Dance Special. 3) Out-going Queen "Rena Suppah" Special. . 4) Hand Drum" Special" (2 con tests); 1-3 hand drum (3 persons), sponsored by Mr. and Mrs. Calvin Queahpama; 2-1 hand drum (1 per son), sponsored by Millie Colwash and family. The contractor is scheduled to hand the building over to the tribes on March 15th. At that time the Early Childhood Adminis trative office will move in. The week of March 30th (spring break) Day Care and Head StartDay Care will close down and move into the new center. ParentsGuardians of children in Day Care or Head StartDav Care need to be aware that they will have to make other arrangements for child care over spring break. The Head StartPart Day and Tribal Preschool programs will move into the new center in June. None of the programs will expand until the start of the new school year in September, 1992.Pre-registration for preschool in the fall will be in April and May, with re-rcgistration in June. The major goal of the new E.C.E. Center's Preschool program is to serve 100 of the 4 year olds in our community; to provide a preschool experience for a successful transition into Warm Springs Elementary. To achieve that goal Early Childhood needs to know how many 4 year olds will need to be served in the Fall. The queen candidates for the Lincoln's Birthday Powwow are: Senior court-Arlissa Rhoan and SeniorCourt-ArlissaRhoan; Jr. Court Emily Mitchell and Lillian heath. They are selling raffle tickets.
