Changes increase function, appeal of Kah-Nee-Ta

Kah-Nee-Ta may not have been
filled to capacity with guests in
recent months but the Resort has
been bustling with activity of
another kind-that of hammers,
saws and major renovation.
Three suites have been renamed
and remodeled. Paiutc, Wasco and
Warm Springs suites now have
new t arpet, jacuzis and fireplaces.
The South and West wing third
floors have new carpet as well.
The Appaloosa I .ounge has been
updated and now sports a new
mauve and teal blue color scheme.
The Village salmon bake area
now has 29 new RV hookups with
cable TV and paved access roads.
Complete landscaping is planned
for the area in the near future.
The River Room has been
renamed and is now known as the
River Side Cafe. The Pinto Room
just off the Lodge lobby has a new
name as well, and is now the Pinto
Deli. The Pinto Deli will feature a
soup and salad bar with a deli
menu.
The Golf-Pro Shop has been
remodeled and the year-old driving
range has been fine tuned with the
help of Albert Comedown and
George Danuka. Further work on
the driving range includes irriga
tion and planting of grass as early
as spring.
Kah-Nee-Ta showed a profit in
1 989, a first since the Lodge was
built in I972. An annual meeting is
scheduled for Wednesday, March
28 at the Agency Longhousc. Dinner
will be served at 6:00 p.m. with the
meeting to follow at 7:00 p.m. All
interested tribal members are
encouraged to attend.
