The following vehicles are cur

bids will be May II, 1989. Closing
date will be May 25. Bid opening
date will be May 26. 1989.
Instruction for placing bids:
1. Name and address of bidder,
including phone number.
2. Description of item bidding
on.
3. Amount of bid. (Bids not
meeting minimum starting price
are immediately disqualified.
This information is to be placed
in a sealed envelope with the de
scription of the bid item noted on
the envelope. This may cither be
mailed or brought into the pur
chasing office located in the admin
istration building. If mailing, please
place sealed bid envelope inside a
mailing envelope noting "bid" on
the outside of the mailer.
All items will be sold "as is". All
sales are for cash only.
Individual placing highest bid
w ill be selected. In case of a tic, the
earliest bid will be selected.
No information will be given out
as to the number and amounts of
bids, or who received the sale item.

Where is the M"?
was recently noticed that the words "Warm Springs" on the canyon
wall north of the town of Warm Springs were altered to read War
Springs. Students initially painted the stones white to create the sign and
other groups, since, have maintained the marker throughout the years.

From Tribal Court....
Offices moved, license requirements noted
by Leona Ike
New Location
The tribal court is now located in
the basement of the old adminis
tration building. We also have a
new entrance door that is located
on your left as you face the build
ing. The tribal prosecutor and the
parole and probation offices are
now located in the upstairs offices
where the court was once located.
Persons needing to conduct bus
iness with the court must check in
with the receptionist located on
your left as you enter the basement
of the building. The court will be
having an open house for the pub
lic at a later date.
The tribal court judges are located
on the west side of the building in
the basement. Please check in with
the receptionist or the judges'
secretaries prior to making contact
or scheduling an appointment.
Reservation license requirements
Reservation licenses arc avail
able at the tribal court at the cost of
S.50 (50 cents). The licenses arc
issued, upon the chief judge's
approval, for occupational and
business purposes.
In order for the chief judge to act
on your application, you need to
do the following:
1 . Submit a copy of your driving
record printout from the Depart
ment ol Motor Vehicles. OR, sub
mit something in writing from an
employee of the DM V office;
2. If you are applying for an
occupational license, you must have
your supervisor fill out the lower
portion of the application form;
3. If you are cligiblle for a state
driver's license but are not pre
pared or able to obtain one at the
time of submitting your reserva
tion license application, state on
your application the amount of
time you w ill need to prepare your
self to get a state license; and.
4. Make sure you arc specific on
the reasons why you need this
license.
All reservation licenses expire
on December 31 of each year and
need to be renewed at the begin
ning of each year. If you have been
issued a temporary license, your
license expiration date may be an
earlier date.
Understand that driving is a privi
lege, not only in the state, but on
the reservation as well. If you abuse
your driving privileges or if the
stipulations of your reservation
license are not complied with, your
license can be invalidated and or
your driving privileges can be
suspended.

Young ladies between the ages of
13 and 18 are invited to attend a
basketball camp the Seattle Uni
versity. There will be two open
week sessions, which will be July
16 to 21 and July 23 to 28, 1989.
During this time, the following
will be taught: defensive fundamen
tals; individual and team man-toman
defensive fundamentals; gen
eral offensive fundamentals for the
individual and team; positon play;
league games and individual tour
nament composition; personal im
provement and motivational pres
entations by coaches and special
guest speakers.
Registration for these sessions is
Sunday, July 1 6 and 23 from 1 p.m.
to 3 p.m. at each camper's desig
nated dorm. Cost is $210 for resi
dent or $165 for campers not
requiring housing. Housing will be
in Seattle University residence
dorms. All meals will be in the Bel
lamire dining room.
Team advanced week is July 30
to August 4. Registration for this
session is July 30 from 1 to 3 p.m.
Cost for the advanced week is $235
for resident or $180 for those not
needing housing.
School teams may compete as a
unit; individual campers will be
assigned to a team; college players
will compete on teams to enhance
their skill level; campers will learn
more advance offensive and defen
sive skills; there will be individual
tournaments; super-star and all
star competitions and motivational
presentations will be given by
coaches and guest speakers.
Basketball instruction will take
place in the gyms at Seattle Univer
sity's Connolly Center. Campers
will be on the courts from 8:30 a.m.
to 9 p.m. each day. Sessions will be
followed by inspirational and mot
ivational presentations each night.

refundable deposit made payable
to Dave Cox, are due May 31,

Enrolled member of the Nez
Perce tribe, Michael Dana Greene,
aged 36, died April 10, 1989 at his
home in Madras. He was born
January 26, 1953 to Loretta Half
moon and Jesse Greene, who sur
vive in Lapwai. Idaho.
Greene attended Sherman High
School where he participated in
American Legion baseball. He also
attended Lapwai High School where
he lettered in baseball, basketball
and football. He granduated from
Lapwai High School. He attended
Eastern Washington University in
Cheney, Washington w here he was
pursuing a caree. in the field of
business.
Greene was well known in the
Northwest for his keen ability to
play basketball. He played for the
Nez Perce Nation, Oregon Travel
ers and various other northwest
baskeball teams.
In addition to his parents, Greene
is survived by his wife, Angelena
Smith-Greene and a daughter, Vic
toria Claudia Smith-Greene. Also
surviving are three brothers, Gary,
Rodrick and Jeff Greene; seven sis
ters, Ethyl LeCornu, Kerma Greene,
Sherri Solomish, Barbara Greene,
Mary Greene, Georgie Morrison
and Candice Moses Greene. Five
nephews, three neices and one
great-niece and numerous cousins
and other relatives also survive.
An all-denominational prayer
serv ice was held Tuesday, April 1 1
at the Bel-Air Funeral Home in
Madras. Dressing ceremonies were
conducted Wednesday, April 12 at
the Agency Longhouse. Further
services were conducted at the
Sacred Heart Catholic Church in
Lapwai Thursday, April 13. Burial
was at the Coyote Cemetery in
Spaulding. Idaho Friday, April 14.
