The purpose of her job is to help a person identify the kind of job he she wants. She also helps estab lish a work history for that person. She does some counseling and em ployment coaching. Job development for the train ing program is a service provided by the program. There were 196 people in the training program last year. The services are provided for the peo ple on the reservation. Right now they are trying to work with Mad ras youth. The training programs are fed erally funded. She was an enrolled member of the Confederated Tribes of Warm Springs. Delia was born February 3,1938 to Alfred and Lucinda (Scott) Smith at Warm Springs. She attended the Warm Springs Boarding School and Madras High School. During her school years she was active in volleyball, tumbling, softball, bas ketball and horse racing. ' f """"" ' ' Former Tribal Council chairman of the Yakima Indian Nation and enrolled member of the Yakima Nation, Roger Richard "Ty-Yats" Jim, 57, died August 14, 1988 in a car accident south of Toppenish. He was renown for the years he spent in leadership for his tribe, his knowledge of Indian water rights and participation in national organ izations involving Indians. He was elected to the Yakima On August 16, 1988, William 'Willie" Loran Bagley, 46, died at Warm Springs. He was an enrolled member of the Confederated Tribes of Warm Springs. He was born April 15, 1942 to Wil Wil and Geertrude (Pitt) Bagley at the Klamath Agency in Oregon. He grew up in Sweet Home, Oregon and attended schools there. In I960, he graduated from the Sweet Home Hign School. He attended Oregon State University for several years. In 1966, he went on the Bureau of Indian Affairs relocation program, he atended the Philco Ford Elec tronics school in Santa Clara, and resided in the San Jose area. Fol lowing his graduation from that school he went to work for Hewett Packard and attended the Sylvania television repair school. He lived in the San Jose area from 1966 to 1976 and in 1976 he moved to Warm Springs. He held special interests in all sports and enjoyed fishing. He was preceded in death by his father. She worked as a through bred horse trainer from 1955 to 1985 in Oregon. Washington and California. An accomplishment she was extremely proud of was having a hand in the career of Martinez Heath, of Warm Springs, who once held the title of "leading jockey" in the nation. Her skill in training race horses was known on race tracks throughout the West Coast. She bought a horse, Caseopie Star, for a dollar, built him back up and won 14 straight curcuit races with him. In California she was the leading trainer during the 70s. She ran horses in tracks throughout the West Coast. In 1977 she returned to Warm Springs and worked in the Family Youth and Services, in the proba tion and parole department and youth services as a abuse neglect specialist. At the time of her death she was the juvenile investigator for the WSPD. She was preceded in death by a sister, Martha Smith Frank on September 4, 1961; her father, -Roger Richard "Ty-Yats" Tribal Council in 1972 and served until 1986. He was Tribal Council chairman from 1984-86. At the time of his death he was a member of the Yakima Code of Ethics committee. Jim was born to Richard and Nancy (Squiemphen) Jim January 9, 1931 at Celilo Falls, Oregon. In 1947 he moved to the Yakima Valley with his parents. He was raised in the Granger area, attending schools in Granger. He graduated from high school in 1 95 1 . He served in the Army and was stationed in Korea during the Korean Conflict. He received the Korean Service medal with Bronze Star, the United Nation's service medal, the National Defense medal, the Combat Infantry badge and the Parachutists' badge. He was discharged in 1953 from active service. He lived and worked in Portland, Oregon for many years. He returned to Yakima Valley in 1972. He was a member of the Satus Shaker Church. Jim had farmed for many years, he -William "Willie" Loran Bagley- I973. He is survived by his wife, Jeanne Thomas of Warm Springs; two sons, William "Willie" Bagley and Donald "Donnie" Bagley of Warm Springs; a daughter, Karla (Bagley) Greene of Warm Springs; three brothers, Jerry Bagley, Al Bagley and Louie Bagley all of Warm Springs; two sisters, Laura (Picard) Grabner of Warm Springs and Bil lie Jo (Bagley) McConville of Metolius: and three grandchildren. Antonio Manuel Nejal Enrolled member of the Confed erated Tribes of Warm Springs, Antonio Manuel Nejal, 38, of Sea side.Oregon died August 11. 1988 at the Seaside General Hospital. Nejal was born January 5, 1950 at Portland. Oregon to Manuel and Inez (Stacona) Nejal. He grew up in Portland and lived there most of his life. He recently moved to Seaside. He was the great, great grandson of Billy Chinook. He had worked as a landscaper. His hob bies were gardening and art-work. He was preceded in death by his facts A passenger is nine times more likely to survive a crash or escape serious injury if wearing a lap belt. Rear-scat lap belts are ap proximately 32 percent more effective in preventing fatalities. Rear-scat lap belts are ap proximately 36 percent more effective in reducing injuries. The fatality risk of passeng ers using rear-scat lap belts is estimated to be 24 to 40 percent lower than that of unbelted back-scat passengers. Scientific studies show that in all cases, safety belt use is better than not buckling up at all! Alfred Smith. Sr. on December 14, 1970; and her mother, Lucinda (Scott) Smith on September 18, 1986. Jr. and Sylvester Smith all of Warm Springs; three sisters, Louise Langley, Rita Squiemphen and Ginger Smith all of Warm Springs; six grandchild ren, Kim Estimo, Martha Alverez, Tommy Joe Alverez.Reina Estimo, Alfred Estimo, Jr. all of Warm Springs and Jason Estimo of Plea sant Hill, California. Dressing ceremonies were held at the Colonial BelAir Chapel Funeral Home in Madras, Oregon on August 17 at 5 p.m. with an evening prayer service. Funeral ser vices were on August 18, at the Warm Springs Presbyterian Church service following. with Pastor Rick Ribero officiating. Burial followed at the Warm Springs Agency Cemetery. Jim - also fished on the Columbia River. He enjoyed trout fishing and camp ing in the mountains. Survivors include his mother, Nancy Jim of Granger; two sons, Roger Jim, Jr. of Wapato and Delvis Jim of Granger; three daugh ters, Connie Jim Peabeasny of Top penish, Sandra Jim of Toppenish and Deanna Jim of Granger; two brothers, Wilford Jim of Warm Springs and Ronald Jim of Wapato; three sisters, Darlene and Jeanette Jim of Granger and Elissa Jim of Seattle. He was preceded in death by his father, Richard Jim, four children, , a brother and a sister. Dressing services were held August 1 5 in Toppenish, he was then taken to his home overnight, and on August 16. He was taken to the Satus Shaker Church for services on August 17. Funeral services were held Satur day, August 13. 1988 at the Warm Springs Shaker Church w ith Peggy Poitra and Nelson Wallulatum of ficiating. Burial followed at the Tenino Cemetery in Warm Springs.
