The young miss is of Warm Springs, Yakima and Nez Perce descent. She is active in softball and enjoys horseback riding, basket ball and Indian activities. She said she is a part of the court because she wants to become active in Indian dancing. A sophomore at Madras High School in Madias, Rena Suppah is the daughter of Delilah Suppah and Rafael Queahpama and the granddaugher of Rena Supah all of Warm Springs. She is active in OSSOM and enjoys dancing. She is of Warm Springs descent. She feels that being on the Pi-Ume-Sha court will help her to grow in her background and her culture. Howlak Tichum Lorena Tee-Nuksh (Suppah) Bill Lorena Tee-Nuksh (Suppah) Bill, 49, died Tuesday, June 13 follow ing a lengthy illness. She was an enrolled member of the Confeder ated Tribes of Warm Springs and a lifelong resident of the Warm Springs Reservation. She was born December 1, 1939 at Simnasho, Oregon to Frank and Rena Irene (Wilson) Suppah. She spent her childhood in the Simna sho area. She attended schools in Warm Springs and Madras. On May 14. 1956, she married John son Bill of White Swan, Washing ton. She was a member of the Washut religion. She obtained her G.E.D. and attended Central Oregon Community College for a year of nurses training. Lorena worked as a teacher's aide at the Simnasho Grade School and is credited with being the originator of the Simnasho Mini-Marathon; she was the direc tor o: the Discovery Club at the Simnasho school and she also tra veled to Hawaii with the Simasho school students. Lorena worked as a Longhouse cook, a widow caretaker, official spiritual feast food server, an Indian Echo-er (interpreter of Indian doc tor) and she was known as "Iron Horse" for her perseverance and strength as a comforter. She enjoyed beadworking. root digging, crocheting and braiding In the junior division the age limit is 15 years and under with an entry fee of $25. The course will be approximately 5-6 miles long. Entries will close June 25 at 8:30 a.m. with post time at 9:15 a.m. sharp. All riders are required to use a stock saddle. The junior division race will start at the Shaker Church and end there also. Warm Springs, Oregon June 11, 1988. She was born to Jim Ya-Pau-Echa and Marylena Nik-Stai-Us (Thompson) Starr December 25, 1918 at Celilo Falls, Oregon. She was a descendent of the late Chief Tommy Thompson of the Colum bia River tribes. She married Wal ter J. Heath November, 1936 at Union Gap, Washington, They made their home at Celilo Falls moving to Warm Springs in 1957. Mrs. Heath was active in the Warm Springs Indian Culture Camp, tri bal fisheries, the tribal Health and Welfare Committee and tribal Enroll ment committee. She worked as a historian and researcher for the Warm Springs tribes and the Colum bia River tribes. For many years she was known for her work as goodwill representative for the Tribes. She had also acted as an 'interpreter for the Tribes. Mrs. Heath enjoyed cooking at tribal gatherings and events. She also enjoyed fishing, bead work and sewing. She was a member of the Washut Religion. On September 1, 1946 she married Milan Smith at Warm Springs. She enjoyed sewing, beadworking, crocheting and flower making. She was a member of the Warm Springs Presbyterian Church.
