Spectators tried to beat the heat in any way possible, including popping up large umbrellas. Soda sales
were brisk during the powwow.

The "Unknown Dancer", complete with paper bag, showed his stuff during a
"honky" dance. The dancer had previously been singled out as a non-Indian, but
in fact, was an Indian.
