T o m any it cam e as no sur-
prisew hen the Burns Hilanders
came out to face the Buffs in
recent Holiday tournam ent final
game.
The Buffs were le d up by the
sharp shooting of Scott Willi
am s who poured in 24 points to
keep the spark alive. Ray W al
d o rf added 18 points to the p o t
and he pulled dow n more than
his sharé of rebounds for the
night. Ken H ausinger the.clubs
tough rebounder, and always
produce plenty of points had 12
points.
N athan M ain set the pace set
ting guard had several good
assists and scoring 11 points for
the victors while team m ates Jay
M adden had six H eydon one
point to round out the scoring
for the final game of the to u r
nament.
Coach Blincoe said there are
times when the boys let up a bit
and they will have to w ork on
thht, to keep consistent through
but the game.
The Burns H ilanders made
their move in the second and
third q u arter where they played
the Buffs pretty even where Steve
Courtney led their scoring attack
14 p o in ts w hile te a m m a te s
W oodw orth 12 and Rothwell
10 for double figure scoring.
It was in the final q u arter
when the Buff moved away from
the H ilanders out scoring them
25-9 where everything seemed
to fall /ig h t in place.
In the first round the H iland
ers ran aw ay from W hite Sal

Lakeview H onkers. The W hite
Salm on team came out all fired
up to take third place in the
to u rn e y by ju s t g e ttin g by
Lakeview in a close game. The
Buffs have looked impressive a t
tim e so far in the young season
as they have rah their record of
5-0 to this point with Burns.and
Lakeview being their toughest
opponents so far.
Thursday night the Bend Lava
will com e to M adras. The AAA
school should be a real test for
the Buffs. They Have some fine
talent in Kees, Wack and Reay
who do a lot of the scoring the
them. The Lava Bears have had
some good gam es with their
Inter M ountain league oppo
nents,
D uring the M adras H oliday
tq urnem ant the Buffs missed
several free shots which could
make all the difference in games
to come. The game with Bend
will be thé last hom e game for
1984. On Friday night they face
an o th er AAA school when the
travel to M olalla and on Dec.
28-29, they will participate in

All the boys had quite a work
