Root Feast Rodeo Opens Season
Justin s been roping for years
On April 11 and 12, 1981 the Warm Springs
Rodeo Association presented the annual Root
Feast Rodeo in Warm Springs at the rodeo arena.
A fair crowd and contestants were on hand to
witness the event. The weather might have
prevented some folks from turning out for the
rodeo this year.
The rodeo stock was locally furnished. The
steers were brought in for the roping events. On
Saturday Evaline Patt and Georgia Miracle timed
the events and on Sunday Evaline and Ginger
Smith did the timing. The rodeo announcer was
Bill Carter. The judges were Junior Anderson of
Beatty, Oregon and Ted Skinner from Portland.
Paul Estep was the arena director for the event.
Following are the results of all the events:
Saddle Bronc: 1. Lee Tom; 2. Mike Erickson; 3.
