cided not to take the ride. Instead
his son Ramsay. 30. Ramsay's
27-vear-old wife Florence and her
sister Mrs. Richard Morrow
climbed aboard with veteran
pilot -Gilbert Wass, 43.
The conter's tail hooked a high-
tension wire as it took off and
the machine crashed in flames as
the Premier and Mrs. Smallwood,
their son's mother-in - law Mrs.
Phineas Boone and two other men
watched horrified.
The three men rushed to the
blazing wreckage and dragged
Ramsay Smallwood and Mrs.
Mnrrow to safety. Florence Small
wood and the pilot died in the
flames.
The Premier's son suffered
first-degree burns. Mrs. Morrow
received fractured ribs and other
injuries.

5-vear - old boy yesterday after,
they said, they caught him rifling
an auto glove compartment and
earlier had watched him attempt
to enter half a dozen parked cars.

coaxed him into unlocking the
ooors when they warned him he
might have trouble breathing with
the windows closed.
Asked what he was doing in the
car the boy replied, "Looking
for money."
"He's the youngest prisoner I've
ever seen heid for a felony in 34
years on the job." said Police Lt.
j.imes E. Gorman, who identified
the bov as Michael Finneran.
Gorman said that Michael's
father Edward, 30. when informed
of the boy's action, exclaimed:
"Oh. he's done that before!"
The father was charged with
contributing to the delinquency of
a minor. Police said Michael will
be turned over to juvenile authorities.
