are attempting to plug the. vacan
cies to ease the strain a bit for
Willie Mays. Chicago has Bob
Scheffing, a new manager, Un

manager.

seventh for a 6-5 win over Sheri
dan. It was a comeback win for. Am
ity. The Warriors had taken an
early lead with three runs in the
first and two in the third, only

The game was as even as the
score, with seven hits for both
teams. Fourteen errors were
charged in the contest. Leading

meet here Monday.

Ficken's 20 points on first in
both hurdles, the shot put and dis
cus was easily the top effort of
the meet. His times of 15.6 in
the high hurdles and 21.6 in the
lows were outstanding.
The winners had an overwhelm
ing supply of good hurdlers, Sher
wood swept all live places in me
lows and the first four spots in
the highs.
Runner-up' Canby was paced by
sprinter Daney, who won the 100-
yard dash in 10.9,. the 220 m 24
and was also on the winning relay
team.
