British Actress Joan Collins
Table-Hops Way ThroughLife
By ALINE MOSBV
United Press Hollywood Writer
HOLLYWOOD (UP)-Ncw tar
Joan Collins is one of the most
dated girls in town, but this busy
state of affairs worries the English
beauty because "people get the
impression I'm always having a
Dal."
From the gossip columns it
sounds as if the coionui Joan
does. Joan, Natalie Wood and Rita
Moreno are the "campus queens"
in this college of Hollywood, or
rather, the Lana Turner, Ava
Gardner and Rita Hayworth of
the younger generation.
"When I'm not working I date
every night," said Joan, "To sit

PATUXENT RIVER, Md. tn
The Navy will make another stab
"in just a few days" at cracking
the transcontinental jet speed rec
ord. That was the word from Cmdr.
Dale W. Cox Jr., pilot of the
A3D-1 Skywarrior attack bomber
which yesterday abandoned its
try to beat the coast-lo-const jet
record of 3 hours 44 minutes and
53. 80 seconds.
The bomber took off from Los
Angeles International Airport for
New York.
Cox told newsmen the Hirer-
man crew decided to abandon the
record run over Chanute Air
Force Base, 111., after falling five
minutes behind their flight plan.

home Is the kiss of death! I plan
to table hop through life. Well, for
five years, anyway, and then I'll
sit down at one table."
Dressing Room Interview
Joan was sitting in her 20th
Century-Fox dressing room wear
ing tight toreador pants and a huge
sweater.
"I really work like crazy," the
actress said. "I have three un
rclcascd pictures ('Island m the
Sun,' 'The Wayward Bus,' and
'Seawlfe'). But whenever one
dates the spotlight is on one."
Since Joan became one of Eng
land's most exciting exports more
than two years ago, she has dated
actors Bob Wagner and Michael
Hennie, wealthy Arthur Lowe Jr.,
hotel heir Nicky Hilton, conductor
Buddy Brcgman and both of
Charles Chaplin's sons, Sydney
and Charlie Jr. Once she estab
lished a new Hollywood record by
dating 14 different bachelors
14 nights.
Laugh Through Life
"Life is a ball and one should
laugh one's way through it," she
reflected. "But there really are
verv few attractive men in Hot-
Ivwood. There was a cocktail party
the other night and one man was
invited bj four girls!
"I like a man with a sense of
humor and most young men lake
themselves so seriously," she con-
tinned. "1 like men in show busi
ness. And a man who is mas
culine! So few men really are
"A man should dominate the
woman. Not push her around, but
he should wear the pants. Amer
ican women arc too aggressive and
that's not feminine."
Lana Not About
To Marry Again
HOLLYWOOD (tf-Lana Turner,
just back from a film festival in
Uruguay, says: "Getting married
is the last thing in my mind right
now."
Her comment made upon bcr
arrival yesterday, came in reply
to a New York newspaper's story
the actress planned to marry a
wealthy Brazilian, Luiz Santes
Jacinto.
"Isn't that the very end?" said
Miss Turner. "Here I am not even
divorced."
She and actor Lex Barker sepa
rated four weeks ago.
"I've known this man for 11
years," "All my Brazilian friends
travel In a group. We lunch to
gether, dine together. Luiz is a
very serious young man with a
business. He's never even been
to the United States."
