The Sino-Sovict is a thriving es
tablishment of 1,504 families seven
miles from the heart of I'ciping.
Lu Ku is the administrative cen
ler of the (arm, which began in
1951 when 180 families pooled
their labor under the rulebook
guidance of a staff of Communist
cadres sent from Poiping.
Over tea, cigarettes and wet
peanuts pulled from the farm's
humanly fertilized soil, a director
named Kuo Chen told of the co
operative's development. His prac
ticed, sing-song recitation never
hesitated for a fact or statistic.
Kuo Chen has told the same story
many times to many visitors.
Landlords were disposscsed and
land redistributed on a common
standard among the peasants in
IPSO. In 1951, said Kuo Chen, the
village families formed mutual aid

LONDON (UP) Russia's air
craft industry is moving into the
"very advanced" stage but is still
hampered by the general back
wardness of Soviet industry, the
authoritative publication Janes All
The World's Aircraft said today.
The book said the Soviet Union
was developing atomic powered
aircraft, guided missiles and ad
vance design flying machines and
in general showed more evidence
of "moving fully into the field of
modern aeronautics" last year.
Editor Leonard Bridgman said
Russian aircraft will "receive the
modern refinements which they
perhaps lack at present" when the
