Awards Given
Twenty-four Rosedale 4-H Club
members who have completed
their club projects in five differ
ent clubs, received their pins at
the achievement program Friday
evening, at the Rosedale school
auditorium.
George Cadmus, of the First
National Bank of Portland, Salem
branch, presented the 4-H achieve
ment pins to the club members.
Clover award pins were pre
sented to the 4-H leaders who
were unable to attend the leader's
banquet.
Special awards were presented
to Miss Cherrill Doty, who is a
member and junior leader of the
Rosedale poultry and rabbit 4-H
club. As champion of the Inter
mediate Poultry Showmanshio
Contest at State Fair, she will re
ceive a scholarship to 4-H sum
mer school sponsored by state
fair. As the outstanding poultry
club member in Marlon county for
this year, Miss Doty will also
receive a. national award in poul
try, sponsored by Sears, Roebuck
Foundation. . ' !
Guest speaker was Gayle Gil
mour, who showed colored slides
about his experiences while visit
ing for several months this sum
mer in Brazil as an International
Farm Youth Exchange.
March of Dimes
Names New Head
John P. Crockott of Crockatt
Company Outdoor Sign Advertising,

named Marion county March of
Dimes chairman, it was announced
Saturday.
Crockatt succeeds William Hcaly,
who is now living in California.
Leonard Rowan, chairman of the
Marion county chapter of Infantile
Paralysis, said Robert Fischer has
been appointed publicity chairman
for next year s drive.

years ago.
She is survived by her nusnana
and two sons, Andy Smith at home
and Patr ck Smith in Portland, and

from there to Tangent in 1942.
Surviving are six children, Lmlly
George, Scquim, Wash.; Spencer,
Tillamook: Ward, Llndsborg, Kan.,
Mrs. Helen Pugh, Shed; Mrs. Ruth
Itockcrsmith, Medford and Paul
George, Eugene. She was married
to Morris S. George in Franklin,
Neb., who died Sept. 3, 1956.
