Parade Slated
For Saturday

orated floats and marching units
for this year's parade.
Kiwanis Kids Day parade will
start at 10 a.m. from the Capitol
Fall and head west on Chemeketa
street, south on High and return
east on Court street to the Mall.

Rites Held for
Crash Victim
SHERIDAN (Special) Funeral
services for Oran F. Daniels, 63,
late resident of Sheridan, who
passed away Friday as the result
of an automobile accident near
Dallas, were held Monday after
noon, at Pershall's Sheridan Funer
al home. Interment was In Green
Crest Memorial park, -.
Daniels was thrown clear of his
pickup truck, when it collided head
on with the car of Mr. and Mrs.
Cleo Wren, also of Sheridan.
He was active in the Phil Sheri
dan Rodeo association, having
helped begin the yearly event,- and
also was an active member of
the board of directors of Green
Crest Memorial park. i
Daniels was born Dec. 25, 1892
in Merced, Calif., and came to
Sheridan when six years old. He .
was a prominent farmer in this ,
area, and a member of the Bucll ;
Grange. He married Leota Burgess
Sept. 19, 1917 in McMinnville.
Survivors are his wife, two sons,
Ross Daniels of Tule Lake, -Calif., :
Earl Burgess of Willamina: three
sisters, Mrs. Jessie Wise of Sheri
dan, Mrs. Anita Franklin of Peoria,
III., Mrs. Orie Minges of Carmel,
Calif.; a brother, Marion DeLash
mutt of Ronan, Mont.; six grandchildren.

He was born Dec. 21, 1895, at
North Plains, Ore., near Forest
Grove, and is survived by his
wife Edna, whom he married in
Lebanon in 1951, and his two chil
dren, Charles of Camas, and Mrs.
Evelyne Robertson of Reno, Nev.;
four brothers, Peter F., Frank,
Will A. and Lawrence of Lebanon;
three I t e r s, Mrs. Josephine
Skeen and Mrs. Mtry Myler of
Lebanon, and Mrs. Emma Dorset
of California; and five grandchildren.
Driver Held
After Accident
A two-car collision at Lancaster
drive and Silverton road Monday
evening resulted in the arrest of
one driver on a charge of driving
while intoxicated, state police re
ported. .
CharRfd was Robert Fromm.
59, Aurora. His car collided with
one driven by Robert J. Roberts,
Portland, officers said.
No one was injured in the 5:30
p.m. collision, police said.
