Loan Fund" In provide financial
assistance to needy students who
attend Oregon College of Kduea
tion. Mm. Barnum, who died last
August, was a member of the
Oregon College of Education teacU
ins staff from 192 to 1947, when
he retired as Assistant Profesnr
Kmeritus of Kdueation. Prior to
that time she had served first as
a supervising teacher, and later
as Principal, in the Independence
Kicmentp-y School.
Mrs. Barnum was graduatf-d
from the Oregon College of Kduea
tion in 1920. She earned her B S.
degree from Oregon State College
in 1931 and her M.S. degree from
the University of Oregon in 19:w.
Before coming to Oregon sli
attended Wisconsin State Normal
and Lawrence University in her
home state.
The loan fund was established
by Mrs. Barnum's husband, War
