mountable" competition for small
firms engaged in rebuilding auto
generators.
Albert S. Holzwasser. president
of Arrow Armatures Co., Boston,
assailed the marketing policies of
United Motor Service, a GM parts
distributing subsidiary. His testi
mony was prepared for the Senate
Antitrust and Monopoly subcom
mittee, which is holding public
h:arings on General Motors op
erations. Holswasser said his firm sells re
built generators to wholesalers for
substantially less than United Mo
tor Service le.ss compared with
M 95.
"But." he added, "we have a
hard time outselling them and in
some cases keeping long-established
customers to continue to buy
from us."
Holzwasser accused United Mo
tor of using high-pressure tactics.
He said a United Motor salesman
told one Arrow customer in Mass
achusetts, "You have two lines of
armatures on your shelf . . . What
will it be. Arrow or Delco-Remy?"
Delco-Remy products are manu
factured by a GM subsidiary.
The witness contended too that
small manufacturers of electrical
para are "excluded" from getting
a fair share of defense orders.
"Discrimination, if I may call
it that, persists," he said adding,
"And the damnable part of it is
. . . it is costing the government
many thousands of dollars too."
He said this situation applied
"most particularly in the case of
General Motors parts."

Wilkins, a 7-year-old Maine wo
man, had to wait here when last
week's -storms interrupted her
cross-nation horseback ride.
Mrs. Wilkins, who sold her

that highway officials had advised
her to ship her horsa as far south
as Lakeview, Ore., or Redding,
Calif., because of bad roads. She
planned to resume ber riding trip
from there.

She said she has covered about
4.800 miles and been in 18 states

Found Frozen
At Enterprise

Crow, 11, found the frozen bodies
of his mother and his 1-year-old
sister when he walked out into the
yard of their farm home Saturday.
The mother, Mrs. Victor Crow,
about St, apparently suffered fatal
injuries when she fell from a hay
stack ladder as she was getting
feed for livestock. Authorities be
lieve she may have been knocked
off by a falling bale of hay.
The little girl, Jeni Le Crow,
apparently followed her mother
into the barnyard and died of
exposure.
PhiUip drove a tractor two miles
to the town of Joseph to report
the tragedy.
The boy said that his mother
told him before he went to school
Friday that she planned to attend
a choir practice that day. When
he came home that afternoon, he
assumed the mother had been
delayed and he and an 1-year-old
sister, Lou Ann, went to bed.
He came upon the bodies the
following morning when he became
alarmed and started looking for
his mother.
The father was away from home
at the time on a part-time carpen
tering job at La Grande.
Mrs. Crow's survivors include
her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Frank
Greenwood, of Spokane, and a
brother, Robert Greenwood, Boise.
