The outdoor Christmas tree at
the Lester F. Karr residence at
Washington and Fairmount
streets is a showy one to see. . . .
The Barrs have lighted the tree
for more than 15 years, starting
when it was quite small. . . . Each
year another strand, of lights is
added. . . . The tree grew 16
inches this past year and is now
pretty, well filling the corner
where it stands. . . . Atop the
glowing mass of lights is a large
lighted star. . . .
Some of the Christmas Daze:
We scurried to a bakery counter
to find some of our pet Christ
mas cookies ... It looked as if
only a dozen were there . . .
And that was about it, 13, to
be exact . , . The girl carefully
placed the 12 in a box, started
to lift out the 13th, then put it
back, then popped it into her
mouth as she murmured she bet
ter not give us the extra one . . .
We often wondered what hap
pened to the little stray extra
crumb now and then . , .
