in Linn county for many years

had lived in Brownsville and
Halscy. She was born near Der
by, la., and was married to Ben

1904. The couple celebrated their
golden wedding anniversary this
year. Surviving besides the wi
dower, are four children, Mrs.
Amy Jefferson, Pendleton; Mrs.
Lois Burrell, Salem; Claude,
Roseburg and Clell, Winston,
Ore.; seven grandchildren, eight

Mrs. Motfett was born in ice-
land, May 27, 1869. She was mar
ried to the late Clarence B. Mot
fett and lived' for a number of
years in North Dakota, coming to
Silverton in 1821, where the lanv
ily lived until the present time.
She was the mother of the iate
Wilbur Moffet, who was at one
time mayor of Silverton.
