Gregorian Choir to
Give Two Concerts
MT. ANGEL The Mount An
sel Gregorian Choir, under the
direction of Father David Niehol
son, OSB, will present two con
certs this season.
The first public performance
will be at the Lincoln high school
auditorium, Portland, Monday
Feb. 8, at 8:15 o'clock, and the
other concert will be at Eugene
on Feb. 25.
Musical authorities consider the
Mount Angel choir one of the fin
ct of its kind. Inasmuch as the
members of the group are stu
dents dedicated to the priesthood,
with many duties and studies,
concert engagements are limited
In 1952 the choir, with its
founder and director. Father
David, were featured in the tech
nicolor film, "They Heard the
Angels Sing," filmed at Mount
Angel Abbey. The Mount Angel
choir has made long play records
which arc considered among the
finest.
