(Tentative). Woodburn Guard Men Reenlisting WOODBURN Several mem bers of the Woodburn national guard company have re enlinted during the past week, including Lvle G. Henderson and Robert W. Fisher. Henderson attended field ra dio maintenance school at Kt. Knox. Ky , in 1R51 and was one of the top men in his class with a grade average of 96 86. Cpl. Fisher is the unit's armorer and has several individuals under his supervision in the repair and maintenance of weapons. Among recent promotions re cently were Edward J. Murphy from sergeant to sergeant first class. Merle II. leishty and Clay ton K. Scaton from corporal to sergeant. Marvin W. Bothum of Woodburn, Route 1, has join ed the Oregon Beaver platoon of the marine corps and his nation al guard enlistment the past 18 months gave him military ex perience plus longevity status towards retirement and pay. Veterans have been reminded by the unit officers (hat thev may enlist in the grade in which thev were discharged or if in a different component, a grade comparahle to the one held at time of separation from the service. KPTV Thlt la Your Ufa KOIN Wreattlng Will Lecture About Ocean UNIVERSITY Of OREGON, Eugene (Special) "The Sea and the Life Within It" will pe the subject for a series; of two lec tures to be given on the Univer sity of Oregon campus February v ana n oy a distinguished oceanographer and educator, Dr, Ralph Buchsbaum. 1 Dr., efiuchsbaum will give the two talks that will comprise the 1954 Condon Lectures, a series sponsored annually by the Ore gon state board of higher edu cation and given each year on tne university campus in Eugene, on the Oregon State college cam pus in ,Corvallis, and at Portland State college in Portland. The series will start this year with the two in Eugene. These will be repeated in Corvallls on Febru ary 16 and 18, and in Portland on February 23 and 24. The lectures here will be giv en in the Erb Memorial Union ballroom at 8 o'clock each eve ning. In Corvallis the lectures will be in the Home Economics autiitoriura at 8 p.m., and in Portland at the college auditor ium, 1620 S. W.
