Chapman Dies in South WEST LOS ANGELES (UP) Dr. Eugene Chapman, 48, asslst ant dean of the UCLA School of Medicine and jusband of opvra star Dorothy Kirsten, died at bis ' Belaire home here last night from a kidney ailment contracted while serving In the South Pacific during World War II. Chapman, who practiced medi cine in San Antonio, Tex., before marrying the beautiful opera star, returned home only recently from St. John's Hospital in Santa Mon ica where he bad been undergoing treatment. Physicians at the hosDltal said he contracted the kidney ailment while servfng with the army's ' medical corps from 1934 to 1946, when he retired with the rank of colonel.
