The 6:30 banquet will be at grade school cafeteria. Monday evening, Rev. Earnest Wine of Ashland, Ore., showed ilidcs and presented the message at the Oakview Church of God. Rpv. Victor Wine and Mrs. I Wine, son and daughter-in-law of Rev. Earnest Wine, ana incir iwo children were shown in many of the slides.- They are mis sionaries in Japan. Mrs. Wine was formerly Miss Betty Myers and is a sister of Mrs. Ronald Sommcrs. The County Schoolmaster's banquet will be held at the grade school cafeteria, Thursday even ing. The PTA and Cub Scouts' mo thers are serving the banquet. The Lions club banquet will be on January 27 at 8:00 o'clock. This is for members and their wives and is to be held at the Scio Lunch. 2nd Lt. Alvin Rollicr was re cently transferred from Lackland Air Force Base to Tyndall Air Force Base in Panama City, Fla. Adult education v night classes began Jan. 12 at Scio Union High school. Dr. J. H. Trclcaven, who is staff phychiatrist of the State Hospital in Salem, is one of the instructors. Mrs. Glen Shumaker is instruc tor in Ceramics. Several courses are offered and there are 40 enrolled. A farewell social time was giv en Sunday night, following an ap propriate evening service for Miss Betty Irwin, who is entering Multnomah Bible School soon. Betty received a suitcase, a blanket, and other useful gifts as well as a cash gift, from differ ent departments of the Scio Bap tist church. Mrs. Laddy Elliott, who was ill last week at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Glen Thurs ton, was able to return home by Thursday night Earlwood Ross is again able to "get around" after his recent ill ness. During the evening, the drill team including Mrs. Stone, Alice John, Loretta Monaco, Neva Lee, Catherine Hudlcston, Nettie Wise, Bca Coddington, Nancy Canby, Jackie Hurland. Thcda Wright paid a tribute to the president, and Loretta Monaco snng a solo. The president was given a gift from the lodge and a corsage from the FL club. The pot luck supper was held at 7 p.m. and the business meeting at 8 o'clock, with S. B. Holdt the new master, in the chair. Wilmer Powell of Monmouth, the new Pomona master, was present and announced the January Pomo na meeting would be held at Brush College, Jan. 23. beginning at 10:30 a.m. He also announced that the agricultural and home economic conferences would be held at Rick reall Feb. 6. This meeting also will start at 10:30. There will be a pot luck dinner at noon. Henry Hendrickson, state Grange youth leader, also a stale deputy, was present. Mrs Whaley, the new secretary, is endeavoring to get all dues for this year paid before March 31, in order to receive a pennant. This has been accomplished for the last two years. The next meeting of Rickreall Grange will be Feb. 12. The usual pot luck supper will be held at 7 p.m. The Ladies Aid held Us first meeting of the year at the home of Mrs. Arthur Beaver with Mrs. Anna Johnson and Mrs. George Van Santen as co-hostesses. During the business meeting Mrs. Straley announced the need for more help in keeping an "air watch" in this community. It was voted to give some money tc both the police fund and the County Health association. Many of the ladies brought ma terial for tea towels which will be made into) sets and used as items for a bazaar next fall. The program consisted of a book report given by Mrs. B. C.
