Of ficers elected were Lucius I. Simp kins, trustee to fill the vacancy caused by the death of Gilbert Noe; A. F. Fredcrlckson was elected secretary-treasurer and A. C. Stu we was elected caretaker for the coming year. Plans were discussed for the fourth annual pioneer day to be held July 18. 1954. It will be the , centennial of the Rock Creek Meth odist church which was organized in 1854. The usual morning church serv ice will be held at 11 o'clock. Rev. Yarnes of Newbcrg has been In vited to have charge. Mrs. Ted Landsem of Molalla will singe and Mrs. Marilyn i'rick of Silverton will give vionn selections. Mer ion bluegrass and Kenland red clover are under the generation plan of seed certification where registered, foundation, or breed er's sccdstock is required to cer tify the field. Just ordinary cer tified secdstock will not qualify to produce certified seed of these particular crops. Deadline Fixed on Federal Crop Loans Deadline for Marion county farmers to apply for government loans on the 1953 crop still on hand is January 29. Ed Dyck, at the ASC office, 440 North Church street, in Sa lem, is in charge of loans. He can be reached by phoning 2, 7819. Storage must meet certain specifications and inspection be fore a loan can be made for grain stored on farms. North Howell North Howeil A basket social is being planned by the PTA to be held following the regular meeting of the group on Saturday evening, January 23. A program will be presented by the men of the community and the baskets will be auctioned off at the close of the evening. Money made from the social will be used towards school improvements. The 4-H forestry club met On Kridav afternoon at the home of Dick "Bartsch. At this meeting presentation was made of awards received by the club members at the fall showing last year.
