Lumber Cargo

SEATTLE (il The lumber

Schooner, jettisoned it deck cargo

serous list 47 miles northwest of
Cons Bay, Ore.
The Coast Guard said dropping
of the cargo restored the 1,333 ton
vessel to near normal keel. The
cutter Bonham was standing by
to give aid if needed.
The 2S3 foot ship is owned by
the Owen-Parks Lumber Co., Los
Angeles.
Highberger Mill
Does Not Make Flour
Lee Highberger, operator of
the Highberger feed mill at
Aumsville, says he enjoyed read
ing a recent feature story in the
Capital Journal about that mill,
but wants to make one correc
tion. The mill no longer manufac
tures flour, Highberger says, and
its output now is dairy, poultry
and turkey feed. Flour has not
been manufactured at the mill
since 193a
Highberger has run the mill
since 1925, and was first asso
ciated in its operation with his
father, the late Theodore High
berger, wbi died in 1944.

Hoffman Wins Suit
Against Government
PORTLAND ( L. H. Hoffman.
Portland contractor, won a federal
court order Thursday for the fed
eral government to pay him $133,-
ouo.
Hoffman said be was forced to
overpay income taxes by that
amount for the years 1944-47 be
cause the government held he was
the sole owner of his business. The
court allowed Hoffman's claim
that his four children were legal
partners and shared in the profits.
