Goldenweds Mr. and Mn. A. Denham, above, recently oB
aerved their (olden wedding anniTcraary. They were mar
ried in Norman, Okla., and hava been in Oregon since 1927.
Their five ehilren are Burrell Denham of Arkansas City, Ark,
Elmer Denham of Oregon City, Mrs. Mildred Rentage of
Salem, Ralph Denham of Lebanon, Guy 'Denham of Salem.

Miss Marlene Louise White,
daughter o( Mr .and Mrs. Otis J.
White of Detroit was wed to Ro
bert Lee Budlong son of Mr. and
Mrs. P. E. Budlong of Salem at
the Detroit Church of Christ on
Sunday, December 27 at 4 o'clock
in the afternoon. The Rev. Rich
ard Hake of Eugene performed
the double ring ceremony, clos
ing with the Christian home
dedication.
The bride, given in marriage
by her father, wore a ballerina
knith dress of nylon net over
white srtin with white satin bo
dice. The hem length veil fell
from a tiara of seed pearls. The
bride carried a cascade of red
rosebuds and a white Bibe.
The maid of honor, Miss Mary
Gordon, wore a green nylon net
dress banded with green satin
ribbon over green satin and car
ried a bouquet of white rosebuds
and pink shattered carnations.
The best man was James
White, brother of the bride, and
the ushers were Ralph Budlong
and Clifford Whit - -;;
The eandlelighters, Misses
Mary Lou Moore and Suzanne
Moore, were dressed in ballerina
length whit and green organ
die frocks. The flower girls
Kathleen Marie White and Mary
Ann Cherrier, nieces of the bride
and bridegroom, wore green
dresses with full white organdie
overskirts of ballerina length and
carried lace baskets of rose
petals. The bearer of the rings
was David Alan White.

vided the wedding music. Mrs.
Skidmore, accompanied by Ar

Maple Candied Walnuts
Beverage
Maple Candied Walnuts , .
Ingredients: 1 cup sugar 1
tablespoon ight corn syrup, H
cup water, H teaspoon salt, few
drops maple flavoring, 1 tabe
ipoon butter or margarine. 2
cups walnut halve.
Method: Mix sugsr, corn syrup,
water and salt in heavy sauce
pan, stir over low heat until
sugar is dissolved. Boil to 238
or until a half -teaspoonful of
the candy forms a soft ball in
cold water. Remove from heat;
blend in maple flavoring and
butter. Add walnults; stir gently
until mixture becomes creamy.
Turn out onto waxed paper and
separata nuts. Makes about. 1
pound.

MOUNT ANGEL SL Mary's
Catholic church was the scene
for wedding Saturday morning,
January , when Miss Patricia
Bisenius, daughter of Mr. and
Mrs. R. T. Bisenius was wed to
James Kirklin, U. S. Army, son
of Mrs. T. E. kirklin of Salem.
The Rev. Hildebrand Mekhior,
OSB, officiated at the 8:15 o'clock
morning double ring ceremony
ar-d nuptial mass, before a large
gathering of relatives and friends.
Serving as altar boys were James
Anderson and Kenneth Berth
told. Mrs. Vincent Smith was or
gsnist and the SL Mary's church
choir, of which the couple are
members, sang the mass. Mrs.
Walter Smith san( before the cer
emony and again preceding the
recessional.
Arrangements of white chry
santhemums and greenery, dee
orated the church while similar
flowers, poinsettias and tall light
ed tapers were used on the al
tar. The, bride wss given in mar
riage fay her father. She wore
a wedding dress of imported
.white brocade styled with a fit
ted bodice fashioned with a deep
oval draped collar, filled in with
pleated brocade insets. The long
fitted sleeves came to points over
the wrists and the flared skirt
was floor length. A satin bonnet,
edged with pearls, held the fin
gertip veil of nylon tulle. The
bride's only jewelry was a string
of pearls with matching earrings,
a gift from her parents. The
bride carried white carnations
and bouvardia topped on a white
prayer book, a gift from the
bridegroom.
Two Attendants
Miss Patricia Anderson was
the honor attendant and brides
maid was Miss Mildred "Mickey"
Collister. The attendants' dresses
were similarly styled to that of
the bride's dress, with fitted bod
ices, short sleeves, and flared
floor length skirts. Completing
their ensembles were matching
taffeta bonnets and mitts. Miss
Anderson wore bronze taffeta
and carried a colonial, bouquet of
gold chrysanthemums', and Miss
Collister's dress was peacock blue
talfeta and her flowers were a
colonial bouquet of bronze chry-
sanutemums.
Best man was Charles Schaef-
er and groomsman was Gene
Goldsby.
For her daughter's nuntialu
Mrs. Bisenius wore a black faille
suit with black hat and accessor.

bridegroom's mother, who was

She was attired in a brown dress.

Following the ceremony, a
wedding breakfast was served at
the home of Mr. and Mrs. p. N.
Smith, cousins of the bride. Cov
ers were placed for the bridal
party, the Rev. Father Hilde
brand. OSB, Mr. and Mrs. Bisen
ius and Mrs. Booth.
Reception ia Aftarn.on
An afternoon reception and
luncheon were arrange ia the Le
gion Memorial hall. The bride's
table, covered with white linen
cloth, waa centered with a three-
tiered decorated wedding cake
which waa topped with an ar
rangement of white doves and
double wedding rings. White
blooms and greenery encircled
the cake, and low arrangements
of camellias and tall lighted tap
ers were used on each side. The
other tables in the room were
covered with white linen cloths,
and the centerpieces were of
double wedding rings, white bells
and camellias.
Mrs. P. N. Smith cut the cake.
and presiding at the coffee urns
were Mrs. I. A. Bisenius, Port
land, aunt of the bride and Mrs.
David Shepherd. Mrs. Alfred J.
Huber and Miss Geraldine Trae-
ger were In charge of the gift
table, and circulating the guest
book was Miss Aileen Anderson.

the bride wore a black and white
cheeked costume with a winter
white hat and black accessories.
To her shoulder she pinned her
wedding corsage. Following a
short wedding trip, the tiewly
weds will make their home in
Portland.
