Grant Mothers Meet Grant School Mothers club plana a white elephant aale at its meeting on Thursdsy at 1:15 p.m. at the school. Mrs. Jess Daugherty ia to talk to the group on the conference method of grades. A notice earlier gave the name of another school group but it is the Grant mothers meeting at this time. Fourth grade moth ers will serve refreshments. Annual Luncheon Sisterhood of Temple Beth Sho- Iom sponsored ita annual no-host lunchen last week at Chuck's Steak House to honor the outgoing president, Mrs. Theodore Linn. Mra. Robert Golden and Mrs. Har ry Perlman were in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Aleck Cohen presented a gift to Mrs. Linn in behalf of the Sisterhood members. Cards were in play following the luncheon. Party for Class Hostess at a buffet dinner at University House on Wednesday evening will be Mra. G. Herbert Smith, entertaining in honor of her daughter, Misa Margaret Smith, and other seniors in the University of Oregon Medical school of nursing. The affair is a "black stripe" party, a traditional event for young nurses-to-be wben they are seniors. Hereafter, the group will wear a black atrip on their caps. The group will come from Portland for the party. There are 18 in the class and the ad viser. Miss E. Duffy, coming for the supper. For Burins Honoring Lt Comdr. and Mr. George T. Bunn, who are leaving soon for California to make their home, Mr. and Mra. Buel Ward are to entertain on Sunday ev ening at at open house. Guests are invited to call between 7 and o'clock. At Highland School Highland Mother club an nounce it meeting for 1 p.m. Thursday at the school building. The mothers will visit classes, to observe classrom procedures, snd a business session will fol low the visitation period. The meeting was at the Senator hotel. Mrs. Sigfrid B. Unander gave a report on the recent talk by Secretary of Intc ior Douglas McKay to a republican meeting in Portland. Visits Lodges Grand chancellor of the Knights of Pythiaa, Don Judson, and Mrs. Judson returned to Sa lem Tuesday after an official visit to the Bend lodge. On Sun day, the Judsons were In Wheel er for institution of a new lodge. on Wednesday, Mr. Judson will be installing officer for the Centralia temple.
