Word ha been received that
Mrs. Emma Hall died at her
home In Kalisnell. Mont. She
was 68 and was born In Swe
den. She married Charles
1U11 In 1904. They lived in
Buena Vista and ran a food
store several years. Mr. Hall
died In 194S when Mrs. Hall
sold the store and retired in
Kalispell. Mont. She had one
brother, Oscar Norden, and one
sitter, Ida C. Dahlberg, both of
Seattle. Wash.
Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Hultman
entertained Mr. and Mrs. John
Schirman recently.
Guests at the Elmer Busby
home recently were Mr. and

For Woodburn
WOODBURN Aa ordinance
was introduced at the Woodburn
City Council meeting this week
making It mandatory for own
era of premises or building!
within 100 feet of a Woodburn
city sewer to connect with the
municipal sewer systems
fore Sept. 1, 1B54.
It ilso will affect sewer sys
tems constructed alter that data.
The ordinance passed through the
nrit ana second readings. The
third reading and final passage
of th ordinance is scheduled 'or
the next council meeting. Jan. 28.
Connection with th sewer sys
tem would be made at the ex
pense of the property owners
snd only a licensed plumber or
member of the street department
would make th connection.
Anyone could lav the tile from
the building to th sewer s n
bypass the septic tank but all
such work would have to be in
spected by licensed plumber or
an inspector designated by th
council. A signed statement
would have to be filed with the
city recorder and a f 1 inspection
fe paid if the services of a city
inspector were used.
The ordinance provides that
the city may abate the nuisance
ol the use of outhouses, cess pools
snd septic tanks if the property
owner does not comply within
SO days alter written notice by
tne city. The cost to the eiy of
labor, material, serving notice
and 10 per cent administration
fee for abating the nuisance
will be assessed to the prop
erty owner.
Violation of any provision of
the ordinance would max the
property owner subject to a fin
of from $9 to SSO or imprison
ment i or not more than 10 days.

ports were made on the proposal
