The complaint states that the
defendant water company op
erates a series of irrigation
ditches. One of the ditches, it
is stated, has been so con
structed as to permit excess wa
ter to flow through a swale and
thence onto the land of the
plaintiffs. This excess water, it
is claimed, caused considerable
damage to the bean crops of
the plaintiffs as well as to the
land itself.

Twa Fires Calls-City firemen

wiring in a car owned by Eve-

Street The fan motor was ruined
in the 4 p.m. blaze but there was
bo other damage, firemen said.
Lunch Served
Noon Today .
Although a little difficulty
had been encountered with the
equipment, the cafeteria of the
new Morningside school served
luncheon to pupils of the build
ing Thursday.
The meal, which is optional
with the pupils, consisted of
beef and spaghetti, buttered
green beans, peanut-honey
sanowicnes, orange wedges,
carrot sticks and milk.
Since a portion of the food
involved is provided by the
federal government, the cost to
the Individual pupil is 25
cents. By the purchase of a
meal ticket, the cost is reduced
to 22 H cents

Young Life
Buys Malibu
The Young Life campaign has
purchased the Malibu club of
Princes Louisa Inlet, British Co
lumbia, Jim Rayburn, national
director, reported here Tuesday.
Tom Hamilton of Los Angeles,
who developed the Malibu club
in the 1940s, is reported to have
spent $1 million on it No sale
price wss given for the vacation
spot Transfer of the property of
645 acres was completed last
week in Los Angeles. ,
Malibu club is 100 miles north
of Vancouver where it can be
reached by automobile and a 30
mile boat ride.
Malibu of Canada, as it is now
known, will draw heavily from
the Northwest and Pacific coast
and will provide accommodations
for up to 400. .
Malibu Club Lodge, the largest
building on th property, is the
main building. There is also a
miniature village with store, bar
ber shop, beauty parlor, curio
shop, lunch counter and other
features. There are a dozen other
lodges and cabins. -
Rayburn said that the heavy
demand for the Young Life pro
gram from the Far West led to
