Pike Found in
Cowlitz River
PORTLAND The Oregon
Game Caminiuioa expressed some
alarm Moodjy over a ftth caught
over Um weekend ia the Cowlitz
River of Washington. Biologists
identified the lish ai a aorthera

The pike ia native in the Great
Lakes area and waters north of
. that. They grow fast, reaching M
Inches in length and sometimes
weighing 25 to 30 pounds. A vora

j compared with the barracuda in
fierceness.

.(the pike mieht do to the native I
salmon and trout population, if the
' pike becomes established.
Ht said this pike obviously was
planted in the Cowliti, since the
j pikb lives only in fresh water and

Bussell V. Mack, Thor C. Toiler
aon, Thomas M. Pelly and Jack1
. Westland. j
"One reason American tax costs I
are higher," Mack said, "is that'
American industries and workers
arc taxed to provide funds for
these foreign aid programs,
whereas Canada which provides i
none of the funds apparently is !
.to get a lion s share of the bus-
mess."
Z He said the order should be
