Prescrip tion number one was written by Dr. Robertson as of Msy, 1893, and filled by the pharma cist employed by Brooks and Legg, then the owners of the Capital Drug Store. It was lo cated at (hat time near the Willamette river at 10O State street. All prescriptions filled by the pharmacists in this store have been recorded and in the event any patient, who might desire a refill of a prescription written 30 years ago, would find it at Capital Drug store. Last Thursday afternoon at 3:30 o'clock prescription num ber 844,577 was filled by one of the pharamacists employed in the prescription department of the Capital Drug Store. If all unrecorded refills of pre scriptions were accounted for, it is estimated that m jre than one million prescriptions have been filled since the store was founded. Since the Capital Drug Store was acquired through purchase by J. H. Willett as of Dec. 3, 1924, it has been operated as a drug store where the prescrip tion department is the major one. One may Judge the im portance of this department when it Is stated that 10 reg istered pharmacists are regu larly employed to fill prescrip tions. This means, of course, that the residents of Salem and this immediate section of the Willamette valley, have learn ed of the reliability of this pre scription department and as a result give it outstanding pat ronage.
