Following a generous gift
of $400. by the Chamber of
Commerce for the lighting
program, the Dallas Volun
teer Fire Department agreed
to assume the task of placing
the decorations. Ben Helms,
Fenton Bilyeu , and Russell
Ssnderlln, the committee
placed in charge of the work,
and 13 helpen outlined the
county courthouse with lights
over the week-end. After col
lecting the long neglected
strings, they were repaired
and broken bulbs replaced and
used to outline the city hall.
The traditional "Christmas
Tree Raising" will take place
on the courthouse lawn after
the tree Is brought from the
forest Sunday morning.' By
evening It will lend Its splen
dor to the city's holiday dec
orations. For the second time, the
manger scene, designed and
made by the Christian Men's
club, is standing on the lawn
in front of the courthouse and
gar red Santa Claus is in lis
accustomed place on the north
west steps of the building.
The tinsel and medallion
decorations across main street
and the placing of greens on
the light posts by the Boy
Scouts was completed some
time ago.
