EXCAVATtNO
that policy I want to express
the satisfaction and apprecia
tion members of this commis
sion feel for the excellent work
done by the State Highway de
partment during the past year,
we have carried on the
largest road construction pro
gram, aggregating some $45
million, during the year, and
tlx success of the huge pro
gram is directly due to the
diligent and Intelligent work
of the personnel of the depart
ment from top to bottom.
The highway rornmiasion
chairman also praiaed the
newspapers of the state tor
support of the highway pro
gram, saying that this support!
haa been extremely valuable
in keeping the people of the
state Informed on the progress
of the highway program.
Chandler then cited each
highway department 1 1 a f f
member present at the meet
ing, naming them and com
menting on the work per
formed by each. Those thus
cited Included R. H. Baldock,
highway 6i.inr; W. C.
(Dutch) Williams, assistant
highway engineer, in charge of
construction; William SUffler.
assistant engineer in charge of
maintenance; H. B. Glaisyer,
