Industrial Ne. 1 action Tuesday night saw Jack Olney,
(for the fourth straight week) continue bis hot streak as

Major league action Wednesday night saw Salem Elks

the evening was turned in by Tom "The Rail" Brennan, who

The Academy Crusaders,
looking smooth in the first
half, held an 18-15 first quarter
lead and 32-27 at halftime,
then Gervais pulled s full-court
press on the Salem team in the
third quarter, holding the Cru
saders to six points.
Meanwhile the Cougars from
the Marlon County B league
started pouring in the points
for 24-point quarter, at one
time hitting 10 baskets without
a miss.
Gib Thompson, a guard, scor
ed 25 points for Gervais and
three others got 10 or more
Norman Keppinger 10, Gary
Espe 10 and Don Reiling 17.

Stayton The Stayton Eagles
scored the second straight win
of the season here last night
with a 46-36 win over Bob
Kunke's Dallas Dragons. Joe
Boyle's Eagles led most of the
way after the first quarter.
Dallas led 8-7 at the quar
ter mark but Stayton moved
into the lead 16-14. The Eagles
led 29-27 at the end of three
quarters and they gradually
pulled away from the Dragons.
Roger Keilaen of Stayton
was the game's high point msn
with 14 while Ray Brandll had
12 for Dallas and Bev Willed
son had 11 tor the Eagles.
Three preliminary games
were played prior to the game.
Stayton won the Junior varsity
game 41-29, Dallas won the
freshmen game 40-35, while
the Stayton eighth graders
beat Dallas 21-20.

held off a second half rally
by Roosevelt to edge the Port
land team 50-48 In the final
minutes of thrilling game at
Salem high last night The
Vikings led all the way after
the opening moments until
midway in the third quarter
when Rich Curtis took the
Teddies into the lead.
The Roughrlders led 39-37
after three quarters but Tom
Pickens sent a field goal with
six left to put the Vikings out
in front 41-40. The teams
matched points until Harold
Hank's Vikings led 47-46 with
atweral minute left

Gordy Domogalla put In
field goal with two minutes
left that put Salem in the lead
for good at 46-45. A free
throw by Roosevelt's Luther
