    Future Farmers Ready
For State Fair Competition
Future Farmers of America
exhibitors, some 400 strong,
will be on hand when the Ore
gon State Fair opens Sept S,
to compete for $3500 In pre
miums and special awards, ac
cording to O. I. Paulson, State
Director of vocational educa
tion. The Valley Packing compa
ny of Salem Is opening their
pig feeding contest to FFA boys
for the first time this year.
Pens of 3 fat hogs will be given
a live score and a representa
tive pig will be killed and giv
en a carcass score and cutting
test These scores plus a score
on the record book will, deter
mine the winners.
A new beef plaque for the
best FTA bet herd of five
breeding animals from two or
more boys In a chapter will be
awarded, the best swine herd
by the Ladd Sc Bush branch of
the U.S. National Bank of
Back of Portland, will go to
the best FFA sheep flock.
More than 60 FFA livestock
and dairy Judging team will

being urged to have the mat
ter attended to Immediately.
