knelt at the Blested Virgin Al
tar. The bride wai given in mar
riage by her father. She wore
a wedding dress of imported
Chantilly lace and White slip
per satin, designed with a fit
ted lace bodice and scalloped
neckline, and the lace sleevei
.tapered over the wrists. The
full gathered satin skirt was
styled with four wide panels
of Chantilly lace, at the front
and back, accented by lace scal
lops at either tide of the panels,
the skirt terminating in a full
court train. A pearl crown held
In place the double fingertip
veil of imported illusion. The
bride's only jewelry was a gold
laviliere, a gift of the bride
groom, and she carried a lace

Mount Angel Women's college.

home this week from a three
weeks visit with her daughter

Mrs. Berg wore a blue dress

accessories. Mrs. Vandecoever-
ing attended her son's wedding
in a navy blue ensemble, and
her accessories were blue. Both
mothers added corsages of ear-
nations.
Following the church cere
mony, a wedding breakfast was
served in the dining room of
the Mt. Angel hotel, wltn cov
ers placed for the members of
the bride! party, the Rev. Greg
ory Frank, Rev. Cyril Lebold,
OSB, and family members.
During the afternoon a re.
ception was arranged In the
dining ' room of St. Mary's
school, which was decorated
with arrangements of pink, yel
low and white gladioluses.
The bride attended schools In
Seiteinberg, Germany. The
bridegroom attended Mt An
gel Preparatory school. The
bride Is a cousin of Mrs. Cor
nelius Vandecoeverlng, and a
niece of Mr. and Mrs. T. Greog
er of this city. .

Fisher (Elaine Clower) who re
turned the latter part of the
past week from visiting rela
tives in Idaho, has been feted
at several affairs on the eve of
her leaving by plane for Nyac,
Alaska, to be with her husband
who is employed there, and
where she has signed a contract
to teach in a grade school.
Among the week's affairs for
her pleasure was the meeting
of the Methodist Woman's So
ciety of Christian Service when
she was presented with flowers,

dinner at the Silver Falls State
Park lodge, a group included
Mr. and Mrs. Lee Haskins, Mr,
and Mrs. Ted Hobart, Mr. and

Silverton Mitt Bonnie Lee
Fitchs and Jack Lymen Todd
were married Friday evening
in an 8 o'clock ceremony at the
First Christian church parson
age. The Rev. Arthur Charles
Bates read the double ring
ceremony before more than 40
guests. '
Attending the couple were
Miss Barbara Fitchs. sister of
the bride, and Donald Kallls.
A reception was at the South
Water street home of the bride
following the ceremony.
The couple will be at home
in Silverton.
Reunion Event .
St. Paul The defendants of
Dr. and Mrs. J. F. J. Brentano
met at Champoeg park recently
for a picnic lunch and reunion.
Of interest to the group were
a few old pieces of jewelry and
the passport showing that the
Brentanos arrived in this coun
try in 1857 from Holland. The
Brentanos settled in Kansas, un
til 1882, when they crossed the
plains by ox team and arrived
in St. Paul, Ore. in 1883.
Present for the reunion were
83 of tha descendants.
From the summer of 18S2 to
the summer of 18S3 about 700

Ingredients: 2 V pounds (7
medium.- size) ripe freestone
peaches, one flat 9-ounce can
crusted pineapple (drained),
S cups of sugar, t tablespoons
lemon juice, 1 tablespoons
finely grated orange rind, Vt
teaspoon almond extract
Method: WaJi. scald, peel
and pit peaches, dice. Measure
8ft cups into preserving ket
tle: add drained pineapple, su
gar, lemon Juice and orange
rind. Stir to mix in sugar
well. Place over heat and
bring to a rolling boil. Cook
over moderate heat about 20
minutes, stirring often so as
not to scorch, until syrup runs
off clean metal spoon n 2
lines of drops that sheet to
gether. Remove from heat;
skim. Stir in almond extract.
Pour into hot, sterii.zed
glasses; paraffin at once.
Makes about seven 8-ounce
glasses.

a two piece navy blue faille
afternoon dress with navy ac
cessories. She carried a white

stephanotis and white satin
streamers.

of honor. She wore a pink lin

accessories and a white carna

couple is at home on their farm
