ANNOUNCE WEDDING PLANS
Joan Dempsey, 19, daughter of former Heavyweight
Champion Jack Dempsey and his former wife, Hanna WD
llama, and her fiance, Dennis O'Flaherty, 20, are pictured
at ber home in Santa Monica following an announcement
they plan to be married soon. The ceremony will be per
formed by Dennis' uncle the Msgr. Raymond O'Flaherty at
Our Lady of Loretta Catholic church. O'Flaherty is a
atudent at Loyola University in Los Angeles, and Miss
Dempsey graduated from Immaculate Heart High School.

An unusual accident occur
red near Suttle Lake when Mr.
and Mrs. Wallace Pearson and
children. Make and Fatty were

Texas. A deer Jumped in front

jured. The Pearsons returned

Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Hitch
man drove to John Day, Ore.,
to their daughters. Mrs. Hitch
man visited there for a week
while Mr. Hitchman went to
Boise, Idaho on business.

Negligence Charged
To Former Sheriff
Albany Charging former
Linn county sheriff, H. A.
Southard, with negligence of
duty, a suit asking payment of
(787.13 and costs was filed to
day in circuit court against
Southard and the Hartford
Accident and Indemnity com
pany by Lloyd A. Cable of
Polk county.
Th complaint charges that in
December, 1951. Sheriff South
ard was Instructed to attach a
number of trucks and personal
property belonging to Wayne
Hausauer, against whom Cable
had obtained Judgment for
$782.83 and 124.20 in costs in
the Polk county circuit court
Th plaintiff complains that
Southard failed to execute the
attachment and that he regit
gently misplaced and lost the
affidavit for attachment. The
Judgment was later rendered
unrollectable and valueless,
Cable charges.

2 Hew Doctors
At Sweet Home
Sweet Home Dr. R. S. Lang-
mack has announced the asso
ciation of two new physicians
at Langmack hospital. They are
Dr. Lynn E. Wolfe and Dr. Cal
vin L. Rumbaugh. -
Dr. Wolfe is a 19S1 graduate
of the University of Oregon
medical school and recently
completed two years' service
with the U. S. army, serving
one year at the Valley Forge
hospital near Philadelphia, Pa.,
and one year at the Westover
Air Force hospital in Spring
field, Mass. The Wolfe family,
composed of Mrs. Wolfe and
three children, have purchased
the Jack Robert home.
Dr. Rumbaugh is a 1932 grad
uate of the Northwestern uni
versity medical school, Cfcicago.
He has spent the past year in
internship at the medical school
and at the Evans'ton hospital,
Evanston, 111.
Dr. Rumbaugh, whose for
mer home is in Fort Wayne,
Ind., is 27 and unmarried. He
1 presently living at the Lang
mack home on Holley Rd.

Albany Levies Fines
For Drunk Driving
Albany Arrested by state
police and charged with drunk
en driving, Henry Edward
Blake, 32, 41S Maple St., today
pleaded guilty to the charge
before District Judge Wendell
Tumrlins.
Blake was fined $173 and
costs.
Saturday afternoon, August
Bert Toedtemelr, 44, Browns
ville, pleased guilty to a drunk
en driving charge and was
also fined $175 and $5 cost.
