survived by his father; his

Stayton Methis Schmid,
79, died at his home near Sub
limity Sunday, Aug. 23. Mr.
Schmid was born in Bavaria
Germany, Feb. 27, 1874 and
came to the United States when
15 years old. He had farmed
north of Sublimity for many
years.
Surviving are his wife, Ber
nadine. Sublimity four sons,
William, Aumsville; Frank,
Sublimity; Rev. Mark Schmid,
Mt. Angel; and Rev. Leo
Schmid, Seattle; three daugh
ters. Sister Tahecla and Sister
Rojarla, St. Mary's of the Val
ley, Bcaverton, and Mrs. Joseph
Lulay. Sublimity six grand-l
children and 12 great-grandchildren.
The rosary will be recited at
St. Boniface Catholic church,
Sublimity, at 8 p.m. Monday,
