The class of '37 held its re Union in the city park Sun day with Harry E. Palmer, for mer high school principal and advisor, of Portland, present to oversee activities. The classmates were Eva (Kessell) Benson, Ruth (Muntz) Dickinson, Helen (Dickinson) Jensen, Wanda (Fogle) Malone, Alwin Blank enship, Alvin McClain of Roseburg, and their husbands, wives, and children. Mr, and Mrs. George Phil lips, of Holley, entertained with a picnic in the park re cently. Fred Davis, Port- Linn Co. 4-H Fair Lists Many Entries Albany With the vLlnn county fall 4-H alub fair sched uled to start a week from to day, Indications are that it will i be one of the largest Junior slock shows ever held in the county, according to H. Joe Myers, show manager. Mora than 200 entries have already been made in the 4-H department. One hundred fifty five dairy animals and 135 head of sheep have been en tered to date. Fifty Jersey animals are en tered now, with 51 beef an imals and 100 awine to be shown. In two new phases of the show, canning and floricul tare, there are SOD and 100 en. tries respectively. Study to Be Made Of Use of Sirens A study in connection with the possibility that sirens on ambulances and the first aid car are being used to excess has been inaugurated by the Salem Academy of Medicine. The group is headed by Dr. Owen Miller, who said that a similar study is being made on a nation-wide basis. The movement had its incep tion during an informal meet ing of Salem physicians. Mayor Al Loucks has asked Fire Chief Ellsworth Smith to investigate the situation locally. There is no intention to eli minate the use of sirens but rather to curb them, it was ex- plalned. Complete Road Near Aurora Aurora Eight and one-half miles of the Wilsonvllle road project have been completed between Springbrook and the Fernwood community and Yamhill county crews are con tinuing work that will extend the resurfacing to the Clacka mas county line, connecting with the Wilsonville ferry. The finished road is "built to last," according to County Com- missloners Charles Newman' and Albert Youngberg. who said that barring unseasonable freezes or unanticipated heavy trucking, the new hard rock surface, covered with heavy oil, should last 20 to 30 years.
