CONSIDER THE BAIT
Color Consultant Gives
Tips on Catching the Man
By CYNTHIA LOWHY
AP MtwdMtuM Wntart
uuui waving trouble get
ting your man? Do the fellas
ilee when you approach? Do
a married future look unlikely?
The trouble may very well
be that you are not using the
right "color bait." This I read
in one of my favorite newspa
pers, and the theory wis cred
ited to Sara Wlnsborough, iden
tified as a color consultant.
Mia Winsborough's Idea is
that girls fishing for beaux
should learn their lessons from
those who fish for fish. The
thesis is that an angler wouldn't
dream of setting out on fish
catching expedition without
box of colorful lures bits of
colored feathers artfully fas
tened together each designed
to cause a species of fish to
awallow a hook.
Miss Wlnsborough cautions
that a girl, like a fisherman,
must know what kind of bait
to use, pointing out quite sen
sibly that what attracts a mar
lin won't get so much as a tum
ble from a striped bass.
I've been thinking over Miss
Winsborough's fascination- the
ory quite carefully, and am now
prepared to give some specific
information on its practical ap
plication. Now then, the reason that a
poor fifth leaps onto the end of
),a baited hook is because he
sees something that he stupid
ly suspects is something he's
fond of eating.

After that, organize your

every time he looks at you, his

the joys of the groaning board.
Here are a few concrete ex
amples on how to proceed:
Let's say you trail the elusive
quarry repeatedly to an Itall-j

had better plan your dresses
around a color scheme of the
dead white of the pasta and the
deep rich and stimulating reds
of tomato sauces. The intricate
design, suggesting a steaming
plate of spaghetti, is important.

would be to adopt a definitely
yellow makeup, one that would
approximate the complexion of
one suffering acutely from
jaundice. This cannot fail to
remind him of his favorite dish.
Sometimes, of course, It is
impossible to ferret out the fa

In that case, the flsherwoman
is wise to stick to a color
scheme involving the Chinese

touch of charcoal hues to mark
the silhouette livened by the
delicate golden .brown of
French fried potatoes.
A precautionary word or two:
never go In for such colors as
lettuce green, parsnip yellow,
or whinped cream white. For
dressy wear, the best combina

vanlla ice-cream white acces
sories. Good fishing, but for good
ness sake watch those calories.

Site Decision
Due Monday
Final action in connection
with the selection of new quar
ters for the Marlon County
Welfare department was post
poned until next Monday after
the commission had deliberated
in special session yesterday.
In the meantime Kenneth
Peterson, administrator, will
prepare descriptions of the pro
perties offered, and terms un
der which owners will enter
into contract with the atate
department which hat the final
word-
Altogether there were tome
IS propositions presented to
tne commission. Some were
specific in nature, others were
somewhat neubulous. However
it is entirely probable the aite
selected will be on South
Church street in the vicinity of
Mill. This location is within
walking distance of the court
house which is considered es
sential.
A number of sites have been
ruled out because of their dis
tance from the court house
and because of a lack of car
parking facilities.
The contract, when a site is
agreed upon, will call for the
owner to erect a atructurel
suitable to the needa of the
wefare department with its
more than 33 employes. A lease
over a 10 year period at a
stated rental will be incorpor
ated in the contract Monthly
rentals on sites offered ranged
zrom X3U0 upward with the
tenant to provide utilities and
janitor service.
