This Week
Perfect for
Young Lovers
Once In an eastern Oregon
town where the akies are
clear of anmmer sight a
local poet wrote these lines:
Did you ever in the eve
ning, When the wise old owl
would hoot,
And the falling stars meant
kisses,
Wish that all the atari
would shoot?
This, lads and lassies, Is
the week of the shooting
start, Perseld meteors, Dr.
Hugh Pruett calls them In
his column today.
Willamette Valley nlghta
are beautiful now, and so
are the sentiments of youth.
And, so It is said, a shower
of shooting stars, as many as
40 or SO an hour, may bo
seen any night this week,
Monday through Friday. Au
thority for that la the Amer
ican Musenm-Haydea Plan
etarium. It adds that the best time
for watching the showers of
ahootlng stars is after mid
night, and the best places
are away from the bright
lights of cities.
What a setup for young
lovers that is. '
