Oregon Coast Gels
Life Magazine Play
The Oregon coast Is featured
In this week's issue of Life
magazine by a series of photo
graphs in color by Eliot Eliso
fon. who has in the past photo
graphed the coast of Europe
and the Atlantic coast. j
The pictures include scenes
of Ecola Point, clam diggers in '
the Tillamook area, sand dunes, I
"scalloped cliffs" and one in
dark blue of the coast near the :
southern border of the state.
The text, or at least a portion
of It, cannot be declared ex
actly accurate. This is particu
larly true of the statement:
The Oregon coast is a wild
and varied fringe of land al
most 'as untouched today as
when the explorers Lewis and :
Clark first looked through the
fog there in 1805 and saw the
Pacific.
