Vera Sanden, manager of
, Emery'i, comet to Salem with a
world of experience in food and
serving the public.
He grew up in his father's
meat market in Breckinridge,
Minn., and after commercial
college he was employed in a
comDlete food market owned
by his family in Crookston,
Minn.
He came to Oregon in 1947
and for the past two years has
been manager of Emery'i IGA
in Sweet Home, Ore.
Vern is married, has three
children, and is making his
home, in West Salem.

Vern Sanders Comes
To Manage New Store
Vern Sanders, manager of
Emery's new super market
here, has been manager of their
Sweet Home store for the past
two years. Previously he man
aged a plumbing and heating
shop there.
Sanders grew up in Minne
sota where he was employed in
food stores from 1935 to 1942.
He has lived in Sweet Home
the past six years.
Mr. and Mrs. Sanders, their
two sons and daughter have
moved to Salem.

the line where some 11c cookies
now bear the price of $1.14.
"That can't happen at
! Emery's," said Vern Sanders,
manager, "because the locking
! device makes it next to impos-
lible to move a price tag with
out almost destroying it."
