"For the first time I have done away with corsets, even for dance dresses," he said in an article for the Paris Presse. an afternoon newspaper. "I have often ' heard men com plain, that in dancing, they couldn't feel a living form un der women's corsets." Dior's shortened skirts caus ed a sensation in fashion cir cles last week. He told the Paris newspaper women were already beginning to shorten their hemlines before he de cided last May to shorten skirts this fall. 'Revolution was in the air," he said. "I noticed in the streets that women were slyly beginning to shorten their hems." He guarded his secret by leaving his new creations un hemmed until the last mo ment. Diller of Aurora, were married at an 8 o'clock service Saturday eve ning, August 1, in the Music studio of Professor T. S. Ro berts' home in Salem. Only members of the family and a few close friends were present. The ceremony was read by the Rev. Ralph Wol verton, pastor of Immanuel Baptist church, Salem. Profes sor Roberts played the organ.
