(Sood Fillings
For Sandwiches,
Easy to Make
Here is an idea that will de
light the children, yet it is
planned to save time and effort
for busy mothers. Individual
lunches are packed in clean
sandpails, which with the ac
companying shovels, may be
used for later play. A variety
of delicious and nourishing
sandwiches are suggested, using
both whole wheat and enrich
ed bread. Baker's cookies ac
company the ice cream dixies
for dessert. Celery or carrot
sticks are included for taste and
texture contrast, and milk is
provided for the beverage. The
foods are wrapped in gay waxed
paper and tucked in the pails
with the sandwiches on top.
Children's lawn or beach par
ties offer excellent opportuni
ties for this novel lunch idea.
On housecleaning, washing, or
ironing days the family young
ster can be sent to the back
yard, or neighborhood park,
carrying their lunches, thereby
giving mother an opportunity to
work without interruption.
