ceived final approval o the fed
eral communications commis
sion to begin operation, Gordon
Allen said today.
Salem's third radio station
will operate on an assigned fre
quency of 1430 kilocycles with
a power of 1000 watts. KGAE
will feature exclusively in Sa
lem the 24-hour leased radio
wire of the Associated Press.
Dedicatory programs will take

sows Tuesday. The latter class was steady
to 35 cents higher but barrows and gtltg
proved steady to mostly 35 cents lower.
Cattle also developed a split trend,
mostly steady to weak, but 35 cents higher
on bulls. Sheep were weak to 36 ent
less.
Most choice- butcher hogs were In the
$10.00 to $21.60 range, a dally peak set
at $21.76 being paid only sparingly, flow,
took $17.25 to $10.25 mostly.
Goad to prime steers sold mainly from
$30.00 to $35.75 throughout most of the
session although some offerings still were
not taken tagged at $36.00 and higher.
Good to choice heifers made $32.50 tt
$34.75. Cows remained at $26.00 and below.
Choice slippers were about all that told
In the lamb division, getting $38.25, while
choice ewes sold downward from $13.00.
