skinned Colorado fed shorn lambs sold

Chicago Grain
Chicago May soybeans shot up 10
cents, the dally limit, to feature a wild
closing out of May deliveries on the board
of trade today.
It set a new high for the May contract
since dealings started last summer.
May wheat was almost as strong as soy
beans on a last minute scramble for the
grain by previous short sellers.
But May corn and May oats weren't
wanted. May corn cloning out on a drop
of nearly 6 cents from the previous ses
sion's finish.
May wheat closed 3'-4H higher at
$2.&0l.3-t2.4B'4 May corn l'4-4a lower at
$1.82-$l.78. May oats 1V-H lower at
78-74 ', May rye 'A lower to 'A higher

Lebanon Purchase of a tract
of 26 acres for the site of a fu
ture junior high school has been
approved by the directors of
union high school district No.
The announcement was made
Monday by School Superintend
ent J. W. King.
Ernest money has been paid
on the tract north of Airport
road between Fifth and Seventh
St., pending survey and clear
ance of title.
The property, owned bv L.
E. Arnold, will be sold for $1200
an acre.
The elementary district re
cently bought about seven acres
from Arnold for a new grade
school, directly south of the
tract now under consideration.
The newly proposed site is part
ly within the city, affording
sewer and water connections
and fire protection. It has good
drainage and is served by good
roads, it was pointed out.
No action will be taken until
the results of the school reor
ganization are known after
general election this fall. At
this time the lay citizens' com
mittee on education will study
the actual situation.
The board said that the pres
ent building program following
the passage of the bond issue for
$150,000 will take care of the
needs of this area for at least the
next two years.
Three Injured in
Crash Near Lebanon
Lebanon Howard Kibble, his
wife Frances and son Norman
Roger Kibble, a 1 1 of Lebanon,
arc in the local hospital follow
ing an accident Monday after
noon on highway 20 between Al
bany and Lebanon.
Reports indicated that the
Kibble car was involved with a
pick-up and a logging truck in
the collision.
Kibble suffered scratches and
abrasions; his wife, some injuries
plus two broken ribs, and the
son, a fractured leg. Kibble is
listed as a plywood employe and
his wife as a Berlin school tea
cher.
Police Report Second
Piggy Bank Stolen
Another piggy bank has been
stolen, the second in three days.
Carl Judd, 1179 Wallace road,
last night reported to city po
lice that, someone entered his
home before 10 p.m. and cop
ped a piggy bank that had
about $15 in it.
The thief pried off a window
screen and entered through the
window into a back bedroom
where the piggy bank was kept.
